Who am I?

I started life as a motorcycle trials  rider, hence my obsession with being in control.

I competed in events around the country, winning numerous club championships in the process, including the North West area championships, twice. I competed at national level and British Championships until I was tempted by the Dark Forces..

...After a brief introduction to drink and girls, I took up cycling to maintain my fitness and to help relieve the pain in my knees through years of  trials riding; and began time trialling with some success. Competing in 10, 25, 50 and 100 mile events, regularly going  'under the hour' for 25 milers. (back in the day when this was considered special)

Over xx years ago I bought my first mountain bike and made the transition from road to rock. The transition was easy, as much of the skills I had learned during those early days competing in trials were transferable, and now underpins much of my riding today. You'll often see me hopping and bopping my way down rock gardens trying out different lines.. It's in my blood!

You could say I have made a career out of not falling off, so I hope to pass some of those skills onto others.
